Building self-esteem and empowering girls to make healthy choices.
I care about girls. Fortunately, I had family, friends and mentors who cared about me.
Caring for girls and caring about what girls think of themselves is at the central core of the Primary Girls Only program.
The contributing editors of the Primary Girls Only program have put together an innovative and hands-on program to help teachers and other role models/mentors to guide girls through critical decision-making about their future choices.
Many girls under your care will find themselves at risk in the future.  Domestic violence, pressure to engage in intimate relationships, exploitation and abuse will shadow many girls into their adult lives.
The Primary Girls Only program is designed to help girls make informed choices with confidence.

The program includes a major focus on empowering girls with information. Included in the program are sixty lesson/activity guides that can be tailored to suit many learning opportunities for girls between the ages of eight and thirteen.
The Girls Only Toolkit is intended as a contribution to efforts to empower and educate young girls through prevention education. The activities in Primary Girls Only programming are hands-on, engaging, and relevant to participants’ own life experiences.
Research shows that girls who are engaged in positive activities such as school, sports, or prevention/intervention programs are more likely to complete high school, attend university, positively serve their communities, and reach their potential for future success than their peers who are not involved.
Primary Girls Only uses reputably effective approaches to prevention, including: consistent mentorship, positive role models, supportive peer groups, interactive teaching methods, gender specific programming, and experiential education.

A prevention education toolkit designed to promote self- esteem, develop life skills, and inspire positive motivation in young girls
We are here because we care about girls.
We care about what they think.
We care about what they think of themselves.
We care about what happens to them.
Please consider the Girls Only Toolkit for the girls in your care.

Make a difference

This toolkit is an interactive, fun, preventative education program for girls. Race, class, and cultural awareness are intentionally interwoven into the framework and lessons. Hands-on activities, art, and technology are employed as engaging teaching methods.
Primary Girls Only is a gender-specific, prevention education program for girls ages 8 to 13 designed to:
•    Inspire and promote self-love, self-esteem, and motivation
•    Develop life skills, healthy coping skills, and decision-making skills
•    Keep girls who are at risk out of the influence of threatening situations
•    Inspire girls to further their education
